DISTINCTIVE FEATURES
Indulge
yourself in the solitude
afforded by only six rooms nestled among seven acres in a ranch style
setting. Enjoy a stroll around the property, take a dip in the pool,
play cards, games, or just curl up and read a book. Whatever you do,
you won't want to miss the magnificent sunsets you can enjoy from the comfort
of a rocking chair on the front porch, or listen to the rain falling on the
tin roof. To top it all off, settle in for the night in the comfort of
a king or queen size bed and sleep to your hearts content. Our motto is
"it's time to relax".
The Rustic Inn combines staying
at a traditional bed and breakfast, staying in an exceptional hotel, and
being close to nature. Each of the uniquely appointed 400 square foot rooms based on
nature themes, is a mini-getaway in itself. For example, the Zebra room
offers a vanity and bathroom elevated two steps above the black and white
carpeted living and sleeping area with a twelve foot ceiling and paddle
fan. The walls are gracefully appointed with paintings and decorations
that compliment the room's theme. A large white pedestal sink with
black faucet sits beneath the hexagonal window ten feet up the East wall
gently capturing the morning light. A bank of windows overlooks a
private deck and the North pasture. The bed frame and massive headboard
are handmade from Western Red Cedar timbers by a High Springs artisan and
pillows are abundant. All rooms have a coffee maker, microwave
and refrigerator. Your comfort is controlled by your own thermostat and
each room has a private complete bath with tub and shower; and private
entrance. Other rooms include Cat, Panda, Sea Mammal, Tropical and
Everglades. Enjoy a different room on each of your visits.
XXA continental breakfast basket filled with cereal, oatmeal,
muffins, and fresh fruit is prepared and brought to your room each evening of
your stay, providing the option of rising early to enjoy your days activities
or sleeping in. When you're ready to explore the great outdoors, you
can immerse yourself in one of the many crystal clear springs or float the
protected four mile stretch of spring water at Ichetucknee State Park.
Hike the maze of bridges and trails where the Santa Fe River goes underground
at O'Leno State Park, or climb your way down hundreds of stairs into one of
Florida's deepest sinkholes at The Devil's Millhopper or lazily wander your
way back a century in time, exploring the numerous antique malls, shops,
galleries and railroad museum housed in the historical buildings in downtown
High Springs.
Area
recreational opportunities include: Canoeing
and kayaking the Santa Fe, Ichetucknee and Suwannee Rivers, snorkeling or
scuba diving and cave diving the many springs (instructions available),
tubing the Ichetucknee, hiking, horseback riding, bird watching and cycling
the uncongested country roads. In addition, the University of
Florida campus which offers a variety of athletic, cultural and historic
events is only 20 minutes from the Inn.
We extend
to you a warm hand of friendship
and invite you to come and experience the gentle ambiance which makes the
Rustic Inn a place for dreams, private moments and quiet times. This is
where you want to be if you want to turn off the rest of the world. We
